This Scanvenger Hunt takes it up a notch by adding a bit of technology to the fun! QR codes are used to access clues and information at various locations around the waterfront. Enjoy the beauty of the waterfront while having fun and getting some exercise while you and your team walk and bike to find your next clue.
At least one person on each team will need a Smartphone with a QR Reader. Never scanned a QR code? No Problem! Prior to the start of the Scanvenger Hunt, we will help all teams download a QR Reader, and walk you through the use of the Smartphone tools used in the game. If you are not already familiar, the process is quite easy and we’ll be sure you understand the program before you head out.
Rules
Teams have the option to have the full team bike or walk.*For those teams biking, we encourage those who do not own
bikes to borrow one from a friend or family. We will have a few available for use for the Scanvenger Hunt only. First come first serve, we cannot guarantee a bike for your use and will let you know as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made if necessary.
For Bikers:
The ride is about 10 miles and should take about 2 1/2 hours. Conditions vary from bike path to city street, this is an urban adventure at a medium-rate of difficulty. Any bike commuter or trail rider will feel comfortable during the Hunt.
For Walkers:
The course will take you along walking paths, sidewalks, and depending on your choice of shortcuts, grassy areas and parking lots. At about 6 miles, any regular dogwalker, powerwalker or evening stroller, will be able to finish the course in about 2 1/2 hours. The terrain is flat.
